19th Century Pull-Through Grain Barn Restoration

Belleview Farm, so named by the original owner, Elijah Bosley, in the late 1700s, began as a 500-acre farm raising grain and mostly hay.

The modest stone house appeared on the tax rolls in 1800, and a tenant farmer and his family occupied it. The farm has two barns,  a large bank barn with hay storage above & animals below, and the pull-through grain barn. Both were built in the first half of the 19th century.

Stable Hollow had the opportunity to restore the 19th century pull-through grain barn in early 2025.

Before and After

From my first phone call to the completion of the restoration of our 19th c. corn barn/wagon shed, the folks at SHC were professional, courteous and, perhaps most importantly, relentlessly enthusiastic about our project. The crew (masons and carpenters) were meticulous craftsmen who cheerfully paused to answer our questions. The project manager kept in touch throughout the work and visited the site on multiple occasions. We have never worked with a more professional and competent group whose love for their craft drives everything they do.
