Stable Hollow Construction is a full-service general contractor specializing in barn restorations,  adaptive reuse and new timber frame construction.

We’ve structured our company for our crews to develop specialized skills. In addition to our four carpentry crews, who are skilled timber framers, we have two dedicated crews of stone masons. And back in our woodshop, our team crafts everything from custom barn doors to furniture and accessories using reclaimed barn wood. MR Roofing, a division of Stable Hollow, also has dedicated crews for cedar, metal, and asphalt roofs. With all of those specialties, we’re ready to tackle projects both big and small with quality craftsmanship that will last.

Who we are is much more than what we do.

We are a family-owned business driven by our purpose: To grow people and build the future in a way that glorifies God, together. In Matthew 5:14,16 we read: “You are the light of the world. … Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Our prayer is that God would be glorified in all our good works.

Our values drive the business.

Relationships

We approach our relationships with a servant’s heart, serving each other and our customers. We do this by communicating clearly. Developing people, both in their work and in their personal lives with the goal of strengthening families and the communities we all live in.

Stewardship

Stewardship is a way of thinking. We embody this value by ensuring the safety of ourselves and our teams, by being responsible for and with our resources, such as keeping a clean job site, and sharing abundantly with our employees and giving back to our community.

Excellence

In whatever we do, we strive to do it well. We not only want to meet, but exceed our customer expectations in big and small ways. You might see this in the way our crews dress, how they show up to a site on time and ready to work, and certainly with the finished product.

Company History

Stable Hollow Construction was founded in 2004 by three brothers, Leroy Stoltzfus, Steve Stoltzfus, and Henry Stoltzfus. The business began operating on their home farm in the cow stable located in the hollow, hence the name Stable Hollow Construction.

And it’s no surprise these brothers founded a construction company: During their growing up years in Lititz, PA, the brothers continually experimented with new woodworking business ventures, including rabbit pens, bridges, dog houses, forts, and a treehouse. The Stoltzfus farm always seemed to be selling something — wooden creations, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigeons…

As they grew older, their dad took the brothers along to Amish barn raisings, giving them the experience to begin building barns for other people, and an appreciation for the work required to build the historic timber frame barns found all over New England.

In 2010, the brothers were presented with an opportunity to purchase an established professional roofing company. The roofing business was an exciting complement to the niche they developed in barn restoration, because MR Roofing specialized in standing seam metal and cedar shake roofing – both are commonly used in barn restoration.

Location signIn 2017, Stable Hollow broke ground on an especially personal and exciting project — the restoration and expansion of their own business location. Experience their building story in  “New Shop, More Restoration.”

This year, 2024, Stable Hollow Construction is celebrating its 20th year in business. With more than 50 full-time employees we  have the right mix of dedicated, specialized crews to serve the needs of our customers. We are confident that we deliver with excellence.

Our company values continue to drive our business decisions, allowing clarity as we focus on building relationships, being good stewards and delivering everything we do with excellence. Humbled and blessed are just the beginning of how we feel as we look to what God has planned for the next 20-years.
